  • March 31 - SkyCable launched Phoenix Television on Channel 60.
  • April 17 – STAR TV rebranded STAR Plus into Hindi programming channel and launches STAR World as a new English-language entertainment channel, moves to Channel 53.
  • May 1 – SkyCable launched its first local news channel, Sarimanok News Network (now ABS-CBN News Channel or ANC) on Channel 31 and ORT (Russian Orbita) on Channel 51.
    • Channel assignments: Channel [V] International moved to Channel 77 and EWTN moved to Channel 54.
  • July 1 - SkyCable removed Rai Italia from the lineup, replaced by RFO (French-language channel based in French Polynesia).

    • SkyCable launched its first cable TV branded credit card in the Philippines in partnership with SolidBank Corporation, the SkyCard MasterCard.
    • SkyCable launched its first documentary channel, the Knowledge Channel on Channel 23.
  • August 31 – SkyCable launched MGM Gold (now AMC; now a defunct channel) on Channel 36. BBC World moved to Channel 57, taking Nine Network Sydney's former slot.

  • March 15 - SkyCable removed Citynet 27, it was later relaunched as EMC on July 20.
  • May 1
    • SkyCable removed Star Movies (for the second time), Star World, and Channel [V] International from the channel line-up.
    • SkyCable launched Nickelodeon on Channel 36.
  • July 11 – SkyCable launched Lifestyle Network (now Metro Channel) on Channel 30, taking Channel [V]'s vacated slot.
  • July 27 – SkyCable launched NET 25 on Channel 72, taking RFO's former vacated slot.
  • August 1
    • SkyCable first launched AXN on Channel 35 replacing CNBC Asia, but had pulled out after 24 hours of its broadcast due to obsessive violence and subsequently replaced by CNBC Asia.
    • SkyCable launched Arirang TV on Channel 53.
  • September 1 – SkyCable launched Kermit Channel on Channel 20. Sky Mall moved to Channel 25.
  • November 6 – SkyCable relaunched Knowledge Channel as an educational cable channel, replacing the old Knowledge Channel, as documentary channel broadcast on Channel 16.

    • SkyCable relaunched AXN on Channel 28.
    • SkyCable channel realignment: Bloomberg moves to Channel 46, Star Sports moves to Channel 47, and C-SPAN/Worldnet moves to Channel 48.
  • June 5 – SkyCable relaunched StarPlus.
  • July 1 – SkyCable channel realignments: Some local channels had been given new assignments such as NET 25 to Channel 61, RJTV 29 to Channel 62, Channel [V] Philippines to Channel 63, CTV on Channel 64, and SBN 21 on Channel 72. While foreign channels Deutsche Welle to Channel 60, Sony Hindi to Channel 65, Zee TV to Channel 66, Star Phoenix to Channel 67, CCTV 4 to Channel 68, CETV to Channel 69, RCTI to Channel 71, ART to Channel 73, BBTV Channel 7 Thailand to Channel 74, RTM Malaysia to Channel 75, and TV5 France to Channel 77.
  • September – SkyCable relaunched SkyCard MasterCard to SkyCard-Citibank MasterCard in partnership with Citibank N. A.
  • October 1 – CTV rebranded as E! Philippines.
  • November 1
    • SkyCable pulled out Kermit Channel. Its remaining content transferred to the then-existing Hallmark Channel.
    • SkyCable channel realignments: BBC World (now BBC World News) assigned on Channel 20 occupying Kermit Channel's former slot in addition to the existing Channel 57 lineup to make it easier to watch.
  • November 20 - SkyCable launched Myx on Studio 23 replacing the Free TV viewing of MTV Asia.

2001[]

  • January 1 – MTV Philippines (now a defunct channel) launched, replacing the Southeast Asian feed of MTV Asia, broadcast from Singapore.
  • May 20 – Pinoy Blockbuster Channel rebranded as Cinema One, a digital Filipino movie channel.
  • July 1
    • SkyCable bought Home Cable being resulted into launching ABS-CBN channels on the latter company: Cinema One, ABS-CBN News Channel, and Lifestyle Network (now Metro Channel).
    • SkyCable and Home Cable removed CNBC Asia from the line-up. Bloomberg moved to SkyCable Channel 35.
    • SkyMall ceased broadcast and replaced by Interactive Channel.
  • July 16 – PTV rebranded as NBN on Channel 8.
  • July 25 – Channel [V] Philippines ceased broadcast on SkyCable Channel 63.
  • October 19
    • SkyCable and Home Cable and removed STAR TV channels. SkyCable and Home Cable also launched its own sports channel (Channel 29).
    • SkyCable launched Solar USA (now a defunct channel) on Channel 24 replacing National Geographic Channel and Moneyline Telerate, both taken from Home Cable.
    • SkyCable and Home Cable launched DA-AI (Chinese religious channel) on Channel 56 on SkyCable and Channel 63 on Home Cable. TVE Espanola moved to SkyCable Channel 76.
    • SkyCable and Home Cable removed ABC Asia Pacific (now ABC Australia) and replaced with Saudi One.
    • Home Cable channel realignment: Studio 23 moves to Channel 23.
  • December 31 – SkyCable launched ABC Asia Pacific (now ABC Australia) on Channel 63.

2002[]

  • April 18
    • SkyCable and Home Cable relaunched STAR TV channels (namely ESPN, STAR Sports (now Fox Sports; now a defunct channel), STAR Movies (now Fox Movies; now a defunct channel; for the second time), STAR Movies Mandarin (now STAR Chinese Movies), STAR World (now Fox Life; now a defunct channel), Channel V, Viva Cinema (now defunct and later it become Pinoy Box Office or PBO) and National Geographic Channel). Resulted that five STAR TV channels have given assignments:
      • STAR World on Channel 25 on Sky Cable and Home Cable
      • National Geographic Channel on Channel 28 on Sky Cable and Channel 22 on Home Cable
      • STAR Movies on Channel 32 on Sky Cable and Channel 28 on Home Cable
      • ESPN on Channel 35 on Sky Cable and Channel 30 on Home Cable
      • STAR Sports on Channel 46 on Sky Cable and Channel 31 on Home Cable
    • SkyCable channel realignments: Solar USA moved to Channel 17, AXN moved to Channel 24, MTV Philippines moved to Channel 41, and Bloomberg to Channel 52.
  • May 1 – SkyCable channel realignments: Discovery Chanel to Channel 40 and Channel NewsAsia to Channel 26.

    • Home Cable and Sun Cable launched Barker Channel (now a defunct channel) on Channel 4 replacing Popcorn Channel.

  • January 1 – SkyCable rebranded into two separate subscription plans: the original SkyCable became SkyCable Gold while Home Cable and Sun Cable became SkyCable Silver.
  • January 11 – Channel realignments: NBN (now PTV) to Channel 4 and QTV (now GTV) to Channel 6 and then 2 weeks later on January 25, they returned on their original position.
  • February 1 – Disney Channel Mandarin ceased broadcast on SkyCable Channel 67.
  • February 13 – SkyCable launched ZPDee TV (now a defunct channel) on Channel 24 replacing Link TV.
  • March 15 – Sky Cable launches Sky Cable Platinum, offering new channels such as:
    • Turner Classic Movies on Channel 105
    • MGM Channel on Channel 106

  • April 12 – SkyCable launched DZMM TeleRadyo (now TeleRadyo) on Channel 22, moving MTV Philippines on Channel 57 and Channel News Asia to Channel 79 (Channel 67 on SkyCable Digital platform). Also, SkyCable launches an infomercial about their Digibox product, seen on MySky (now a defunct channel) Channel 33.
  • June 26 – SkyCable reformatted SkySked (now a defunct channel) on Channel 11.

Meanwhile, Fight Sports on Sky Cable Channel 188 (HD) has terminated on their line-up due to the expiration of Sky Cable's expired contract with the network for the second time.
  • January 30 - IZTV rebranded as Aliw 23 on Sky Cable Channel 72.
  • April 1 - Outdoor Channel has discontinued in High Definition feed on Sky Cable Channel 179. Meanwhile, the Standard Definition feed will continue on Channel 216 but available only on Postpaid 550 plan.[21]
  • April 3 - BBC World News rebranded as BBC News on Sky Cable Channel 29.
  • May 1 - Sky Cable have terminated two channels on their line-up: Aniplus on Channel 139 and K-Plus on Channel 144 due to the expiration of Sky Cable's expired contract with the network.[22]

  • July 28 - Cartoonito relaunched and it has replaced by Boomerang on Sky Cable Channel 42.
  • September 24 - Sky Cable will terminate BBC News on its line-up on Channel 29 due to the expiration of Sky's contract with the network.[23]
  • October 1 - The Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) a unit of the Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International division of The Walt Disney Company will cease broadcast of 3 linear channels in the Philippines on SkyCable. 2024[]

  • January 26 - SkyCable will be acquired by PLDT after being made a deal on March 16, 2023. Its final broadcast scheduled for February 26 at 11:59 pm, marking the end of the cable operations, as it will be absorbed into Cignal.[24]
